SP80 GNSS Receiver Firmware Upgrade

October 3, 2019

Recently, some Spectra Geospatial SP80 units have encountered an inability to report a position. This is caused by the GLONASS almanac providing some out-of-tolerance data for one of the GLONASS satellites, and the positioning engine in SP80 treating the almanac as accurate.

This issue has been resolved with a firmware fix (see link below). This should be distributed immediately to all affected users, as it will resolve the issue with the GLONASS almanac.

In addition to SP80, we have received some reports of positioning issues with the following legacy receivers:
ProMark 500
ProMark 800
ProFlex 500
ProFlex 800
ProMark 120
MobileMapper 120

We are currently developing a fix for each of these legacy receivers and should have a fix available soon.
