Answer
The GeoExplorer handheld device (GeoXM, GeoXT, GeoXH) will not turn on. Two things can cause this problem; 1) The battery power level on the GeoExplorer handheld got too low and the unit shut itself off. 2) The GeoExplorer handheld has been charging on the cradle too long. This may cause the unit to get to hot, and it will shut down so it can cool off.
1) Is the Geo placed in the cradle correctly and the green LED is on?
a. Nose in first, and then push down.
b. Is there anything on the contacts of the cradle or the Geo?
2) Hold down the power button until you should see, “Loading Kernel.” This process usually takes about 1 minute, but has taken up to 3 minutes.
3) Download and install the 5.1.16 Operating System
a. Follow the directions for the GeoExplorer 2005 Series OS Upgrade on this website.
