How do I set it up a Geo7X running TerraSync to take points with associated photographs?

Answer

You will to setup a file name attribute for your feature(s) . This is done through the Data Dictionary Editor utility inside of Trimble’s  Pathfinder Office software.

  1. Open Pathfinder Office
  2. Create or Open your project
  3. Click on Utilities and select the Data Dictionary Editor
  4. Open your Data Dictionary file or create a new one
  5. Edit an existing feature or create a new one
  6. Add in the File Name attribute for your photos.  Add additional file name attributes if you want more than one file
  7. Save the Data Dictionary file
  8. Click on Utilities and select the Data Transfer utility
  9. Send the DDF file over to the Geo7x.
  10. Open TerraSync and create a new data file using the DDF you just created
  11. Click on the feature you want to collect.
  12. You will see a camera icon next to the picture/photo attribute…this will activate the camera utility on the Geo7x
  13. Point the Geo7x at the feature (camera is on front of the Geo)
  14. Make sure to use the center button on the Geo7x to shoot the picture.  If you hit the OK button nothing happens…
  15. Once the picture has been taken, then you click the OK button
  16. This operation is successful once you see a thumb nail of the picture below the picture attribute.
