Last week during the Trimble Dimension conference in Las Vegas, Trimble announced  that its RTX™ technology-based correction services will be available for the Trimble Geo7X handhelds.  Trimble RTX over cellular connection works worldwide and delivers real-time corrections without the need for a base station or VRS™ network. This removes the burden of infrastructure for users and eliminates the complexities of managing multiple correction sources across a large geographically dispersed project or organization.

Cellular delivered RTX correction services are ideal for users who:

  • Require real-time corrections/high accuracy without waiting for postprocessing
  • Are in regions with cellular access, but without access to VRS correction sources or ground-based infrastructure
  • Operate over larger geographic areas than available VRS or ground-based infrastructure coverage
  • Are without access to SBAS corrections

Trimble RTX will be available in 3 levels of correction services ranging from 4 centimeters to submeter horizontal accuracy.  Customers can choose the appropriate Geo 7X handheld configuration with the RTX-based correction service that meets the accuracy level and capability required for their job.

RTX Service

Trimble CenterPoint RTX

Based on Trimble’s patent-pending RTX technology and available via cellular, CenterPoint RTX Standard provides positioning up to 1.5 in (3.8 cm) within 30 minutes.

 Trimble RangePoint RTX

Trimble RangePointâ„¢ RTXâ„¢ is a GPS and GLONASS enabled correction service built on Trimble’s exclusive RTX technology. This affordable, entry-level correction service, delivers up to 50 cm (20 inch) repeatable horizontal accuracies.

Trimble RangePointâ„¢ RTXâ„¢ corrections converge to full accuracy in in less than 5 minutes, and often in less than 1 minute.

Trimble ViewPoint RTX

Trimble ViewPoint RTXâ„¢ is a GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou and QZSS correction service built on Trimble’s exclusive RTX technology. This affordable, entry-level correction service, delivers better than 1m horizontal accuracy, making it ideal for utility infrastructure, environmental management, road works and park management.

Because ViewPoint is delivered via the Internet, you can work anywhere a cellular signal is available. ViewPoint RTX does not require the use of a local base station or VRS Network. This service is delivered directly to the built-in receiver of your Trimble Geo 7X handheld. Trimble ViewPoint RTX corrections converge to full accuracy in as little as 5 minutes.
