Trimble Perspective Mobile (TPM) is available now free for download on both iOS and Android mobile phones. The TPM phone app pairs with the Trimble X7 to provide the core functionality of Trimble Perspective field software for controlling the scanner. Create new projects, set scan and imaging parameters, and view the scans and images in the field.
TPM is an advanced alternative to the Trimble X7 push-button operation, which is limited to the last scan parameters and provides no feedback on data capture in the field. With TPM, users can control the Trimble X7 with their mobile phones standalone or in addition to their tablet running the full featured Perspective software. The app minimizes the amount of equipment needed and is convenient in tough, hard-to-access environments. TPM serves as a viable controller and complementary solution when the tablet batteries are low and you need to quickly capture additional scans.
Data from TPM will only be stored on the Secure Digital (SD) card when operating standalone. Users can import and sync data with the Trimble Perspective on the tablet or transfer data from the SD card to process and register back in the office with either Trimble RealWorks or Trimble Business Center.
How to download the App today
The Perspective Mobile app can be downloaded from the Google Play Store or Apple Store and requires Android 5.0 or iOS 13.0 versions or greater. TPM also requires X7 firmware version 2.2.42 or greater.
After installing the app, follow the steps below.
- Accept the license agreement
- Tap on Sign In or Create an Account
- Enter your Trimble ID or create one
- The license will be downloaded to your phone.
- Start the X7 scanner and update the firmware to the latest version if needed.
- Follow the instructions on your phone to connect to the scanner via WiFi
- After connection you’re ready to scan
