LiDAR: Applications for Forested Environments

 

Please join the staff of NEI for our April roundtable event featuring LIDAR:Applications for Forested Environments. These roundtable sessions will be held every third Tuesday of each month in which we will open our doors for you to join us in discussion on topics of interest to you.  A different topic will be discussed each month and we would love to have your attendance and feedback.This month’s topic will cover LIDAR:Applications for Forested Environments Our guest speaker this month is Wesley Palmer of LA Tech University.  Wesley Palmer is the Spatial Data Laboratory Supervisor and GIS Program Coordinator at Louisiana Tech’s School of Forestry. Wesley teaches GIS, GPS, and Remote Sensing courses while supporting the geospatial research needs of the School of Forestry.
Some of the topics that will be discussed are
·         Overview of LiDAR technology
·         Working with LiDAR products
·         Forest canopy height models
·         Individual tree identificationThese topics, and many more, will be discussed.  We hope to see you there!
